Terms of Use

Last updated: October 23, 2026

The short version

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Anyhoo ("Anyhoo", "we", "us") for using the Anyhoo app, the website at anyhoo.app and the Anyhoo demo (together, "Anyhoo"). By using Anyhoo you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Anyhoo.

2. Who can use Anyhoo

You must be at least 16 years old to use Anyhoo. If you're using Anyhoo on behalf of someone else, you need their permission.

3. What Anyhoo is, and isn't

Anyhoo lets you talk or type about your day, keeps your words and your voice recording as a private journal, and lets you chat with an AI friend about your entries.

4. Your content

Your entries, recordings, moods and chats ("your content") belong to you. We don't claim any ownership of them.

So that Anyhoo can work, you give us permission to store and process your content only to provide Anyhoo to you: for example, to save your entries, play back your recordings, and, when you choose "Talk it through", send that entry to our AI provider so your friend can reply. We never sell your content, never show it to other users, and never use it to advertise to you.

You're responsible for what you put into Anyhoo. Please don't use it to break the law or to harm anyone.

5. Plans

Free

Anyhoo Plus

Plan features and prices are shown on our pricing section and in the app before you buy. We'll tell you in advance if we change what's included.

6. Subscriptions, billing and free trials

7. If you cancel Plus

You can cancel any time in your phone's subscription settings (Settings โ†’ your name โ†’ Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store โ†’ Payments & subscriptions on Android). Here's exactly what happens:

  1. Plus keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for.
  2. Then a 30-day grace period starts. All of your recordings stay unlocked, and you can still play and download them.
  3. 7 days before the grace period ends, we'll remind you in the app (and by email if you've given us one), so you can download any recordings you'd like a copy of, or rejoin Plus.
  4. When the grace period ends, your account moves to the Free plan. Recordings more than 3 months old are locked, not deleted. Your most recent 3 months of recordings stay playable, as on Free.
  5. Your written entries are never deleted. Every word you've written or said stays in your journal.
  6. Your friend's memory pauses. The notes your Anyhoo friend keeps about your life are saved, and start being used again if you rejoin Plus.

If you rejoin Plus at any time, all of your locked recordings unlock again, as if you never left.

Long-inactive accounts. If you haven't opened Anyhoo for 24 months, we may delete locked recordings to keep storage under control. We'll email and notify you at least 30 days before this happens. Your written entries are still never deleted.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app's settings. This permanently deletes everything, including your written entries, recordings, moods, chats and your friend's memory. It's removed from our active systems right away and from backups within 30 days. This can't be undone, so we'll ask you to confirm first.

9. Using Anyhoo fairly

Please don't try to break, overload or get around the security of Anyhoo, access other people's accounts, or use Anyhoo or the AI friend to create content that's illegal or meant to harm others. We may suspend accounts that do.

10. Changes and availability

Anyhoo is a young product and will change as we improve it. We may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that meaningfully affects you, such as how long recordings are kept, we'll tell you in advance. We'll do our best to keep Anyhoo running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Please download anything you can't bear to lose.

11. Responsibility

To the extent the law allows, Anyhoo is provided "as is", and we're not responsible for indirect losses, or for decisions you make based on what the AI friend says. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

12. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the province where you live in Canada and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

13. Contact

Questions about these terms? Email hello@anyhoo.app.

This is an early version of our terms, written for the Anyhoo demo and upcoming app. We'll update it before Anyhoo Plus launches, and we'll tell you about meaningful changes.
